Upper House Discoed

Upper House Discoed – Presteigne and the local area

Surrounded by open countryside and within 5 minutes walk of the Offa’s Dyke Path, Upper House gives easy access to excellent walking, riding, hang-gliding, clay-pigeon shooting, rally driving, flying, and many other holiday activities.  There are many fine restaurants nearby including the Stagg at Titley, The Riverside Inn at Aymestry and others in Ludlow.  The Welsh Coast is just over an hour’s drive away through the most beautiful countryside.

There are many acclaimed annual events held locally, such as The Presteigne Festival of Music, Sheep Music Festival, The Welsh (Vintage Sports Car) Trials and nearby events such as the Ludlow, Gregynog and Hay Festivals and the Abergavenny Food Festival.  The excellent ‘whats-on’ magazine ‘Broad Sheep’ (provided) gives full details of most events.

Presteigne boasts an excellent fishmonger, greengrocer, local butcher, Spanish delicatessen and bread on a Saturday by award-winning artisan baker, Alex Gooch; the friendly wine bar serves tapas.  There are several traditional pubs and the historic Radnorshire Arms.  Trout, meat and eggs can be bought directly from local farms and there are several excellent farm shops within half an hour’s drive.
